Confluence with South Paint Rock Creek upstream to confluence with an unnamed tributary.
Travel on state highway 16 east from Tensleep or west from Buffalo. Turn to the west on Forest Rd 27 toward Deer Haven Lodge (west of Meadowlark Lake). Cross over Tensleep Creek and turn right (still on FR 27). Travel approximately 1 mile to a fork in the road and turn left onto Forest Rd 24. This road tends to be rough so take it slow. It is about 7 miles from this fork to a good parking spot along Soldier Creek.
