From the confluence with Mumford Creek down to the private property boundary.
From Hoback Junction south of Jackson go east about 5 miles to the Camp Davis turnoff (USFS Road 30097). This road passes through private property about 2 miles to the Bryan Flats trailhead. From here the trail heads west out of the parking lot and climbs about a mile to a ridge top above Willow Creek. You’ll encounter a fork in the trail where you can turn down to Alder Creek or continue down the ridge line, the junction is signed. Alder Creek is near the middle of this 8.3 mile long segment that extends from private lands on the downstream (north) end up to the confluence with Mumford Creek
