In the southern Bighorn Mountains in northwest Natrona County, the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission hold a public access easement for licensed hunters on 2,840-acres of private land. The easement allows for access by licensed hunters and their companions from August through December each year, and remains open for extended big game and trophy game hunting seasons. The easement also borders many acres of adjacent public lands. It is the sportsperson’s responsibility to determine land boundaries in this area of mixed land ownership. Access to this rugged country can be difficult, especially after precipitation. WGFD does not plow the access roads in the winter.
