The Wyoming Game and Fish Commission hold easements on private land for a parking area, and a pedestrian fishing easement. North Platte River – Pathfinder Ranches Public Access Area is 30 miles southwest of Casper downstream of the Pathfinder Reservoir Dam. There is one parking area and almost one mile of river access for fishing on both sides of the river. The river provides quality fishing year-round for rainbow trout and brown trout. Anglers must access the area from the established parking area. WGFD does not plow the access road and parking area in the winter.
