Woods Canyon Wildlife Habitat Management Area (WHMA) is located off of the Cache Creek drainage east of the town of Jackson, WY. The 640-acre area consists of a conifer shrub mix and provides excellent seasonal range for elk and Mule deer. There is no motor vehicle access into the WHMA, but it can be accessed by foot via the Forest Service trail following Cache Creek. The one square mile piece of property is owned by Wyoming State Lands, but the Wyoming Game and Fish Department has an agreement to manage the land with the goal of ensuring the protection of valuable wildlife habitat.
