Recently, the Wyoming Game and Fish Department released its Draft Wyoming Elk Feedgrounds Management Plan for public review and comment. The draft plan, which can be found on the elk feedgrounds web page, is designed to guide the department’s overall, long-term approach to elk management as it pertains to the 22 Game and Fish-operated elk feedgrounds in western Wyoming. A one-page summary highlighting the main points of the plan is also available online.
“I am hopeful the public and stakeholders will continue to provide feedback on the draft plan as we work together to address the long-term management of elk feedgrounds,” said Game and Fish Director Brian Nesvik. “Continued public review and input will help us make necessary changes that will guide the finalization of the plan. We have already received some constructive support, feedback and critique.”
Game and Fish will host four public meetings — three in-person and one online — to provide an opportunity for the public to interact with members of the department’s elk feedgrounds steering team and learn more about the details of the proposed plan.
